Damart was born in 1953 from a major textile innovation - Thermolactyl - conceived by the despature brothers in Roubaix, France. The 1st “smart textile” in history, this “active heat” material gets its power from a revolutionary fibre with triboelectric properties. In other words, energy generated by micro-friction between the textile and the skin, providing a soothing heat. The electric microcharges could be seen in the dark, producing flashe that are legendary today! 68 years later, the technology has evolved significantly but the magic is still there: the flash,
